A building shaped by lives devoted to
art, conversation, and the pursuit of the unique.

The building that stands today at number 7, Plaza de Santa Ana, was erected in 1912 as an example of Madrid’s neoclassical style, marking the transition between the historicism of the 19th century and the more functional architecture of the 20th.

For much of the 20th century, the building housed one of the area's most renowned establishments: Antigüedades Serrano. This prestigious antique shop, with its windows facing the square, offered historical furniture, porcelain, and collectible objectsestablishing the building as a space that blended the museum-like and the bohemian, perfectly in tune with the cultural spirit of the Barrio de las Letras.

Later, in the early years of this century and until recently, the building was home to ARGO, a private club — a discreet and sophisticated refectory where gatherings, tastings, and exclusive meetings took place. Its intimate atmosphere further enriched the narrative of the place.

Both Antigüedades Serrano and ARGO endowed the building with an intangible value: that of being a setting for encounters, knowledge, and lifestyle.

These different chapters only confirm that Santa Ana 7 was never a neutral property, but rather a space imbued by ways of life linked to art, conversation, and uniqueness.
